I'm working on a black and white thing at the moment.. I would of liked to make it colour, but I'm affraid I might mess it up :(..
I have no clue what to do myself..

The color is on a layer on top of the black and white!! Best solution ever, right?
Just finish the B/W one and then add color (In photoshop add a layer on top, set it to "Color Mode" and start painting color on that one.)
